Going to get a tree and decorating it is one of the big markers that Christmas is just around the corner. It’s such an exciting time of the year and I love the tradition of picking the tree and the smell of a real fir in the house. It just makes Christmas!

Where to get real Christmas trees in Hampshire 2021
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… it’s that time again and the second year of writing this guide about where to find real Christmas trees in Hampshire. I’ve updated it with everything you need to know about picking a real tree and capturing some Christmas magic across Hampshire this year.
I’ve listed the stores, farms and garden centres by location and alphabetical order. Instagram accounts are linked where I’ve been able to find them, a little extra help for planning your trip.
Things to note, aka the boring but important bit when it comes to buying a real Christmas trees in Hampshire…
- Please double check the websites and social media accounts before you go to pick your tree. While I strive to make sure the information is correct, things can change quickly, especially after the last year we’ve had!
- This list is not exhaustive, so I’ll be reviewing it regularly and making updates as I see places opening up. At this time of year lots of pop up places tend to open up so let me know if you spot any.
- Often you need your wellingtons, a saw, some gardening gloves (trust me tree sap is really hard to get off of that beautiful Christmas jumper or your new pea coat) and, to avoid a year’s worth of picking needles, something to protect the inside of your car.

Cranborne has been selling trees since 1980! They stock a variety of species including the traditional Norway Spruce and the Nordmann Fir. There’s also wreaths and other Christmas decor usually for sale too.

Petersfield
Hillier Garden Centre, Liss

Hillier Garden Centre is well established in Hampshire with locations all over, including in Liss. Tree varieties include a range of pot grown and pre-cut Nordmann, Norway Spruce, Fraser Fir and Noble Firs. Hillier also has a huge Christmas section, artificial tress and decorations for sale.
Anyone who lives local to a store will know it’s got a pretty amazing Christmas section each year that’s great for a look around.

Rotherbarn Christmas Trees, Liss

Rotherbarn don’t have many cut your own trees within 5-7ft for the 2021 festive season. But, they’ve got plenty coming in pre-cut from external suppliers to keep the good people of Liss furnished with a real tree. There’s also mulled wine, cidre or hot chocolate to warm up after you’ve got your tree.

Wylds Farm Christmas Trees, Liss

Wow Wylds is making up for last Christmas and it going all out with an Apres Tree Bar, street food vendors, choirs and tractor and trailer rides and a treasure trail. Mulled wine once you’ve picked your tree… I’m in!
They have a large selection of trees including Spruce, Blue Spruce and Nordman.

Pick up a premium grade Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce Christmas Trees from the patio throughout late November and all of December.
They even offer free local delivery and you can pre-order. Perfect!

At the moment there’s no information about real trees but there’s plenty of artificial ones. I’m sure they are going to have real trees, as they usually do, and last year they had a pre-ordering service for trees. My advice is to keep checking the website to see when this goes live.

Garsons is magical at Christmas and has an incredible Christmas decoration section. It also, of course, offers a range of real trees.
This is one of those garden centres where you’ll want to spend a good hour or more having a look because it’s just fabulous!

J.West Christmas Tree Supplier, Titchfield

J. West Christmas Tree Supplier is a lovely family run business in the heart of Titchfield. Not only does it offer Christmas tree delivery locally but you can go to the farm and pick your tree too. But, be quick they are very popular!

The nursery has a selection of real trees available and a Christmas section to explore. Nothing on the website yet but trees are there now as it was confirmed on their Facebook page and Instagram on 20 November. Watch for the new road layout apparently a few people have struggled with it.

I can verify this pop up is back thanks to the three giant Father Christmas inflatable that have appeared in the field surrounding the roundabout.
It’s in a convenient location right next to the M27 and stocks a range of trees. It’s not a shop it’s more like a kiosk on the side of the road affair.

This wonderful farm shop sells year round seasonal produce and Christmas trees. There’s no news on the trees yet, so keep an eye on their social channels for the latest updates. It’s also very conveniently situated on the B road between Southampton and Bursledon.

On the corner off the Botley Road you’ll find Pinkmead Farm. It stocks a range of different trees, holly wreaths, mistletoe and logs. I’ve personally bought from here for the last few years and found it very reliable. I don’t think they are on Instagram, I’ve not been able to find them anyway!

No Christmas is complete without a visit to The Garden Society. Famed for its stunning displays, great cafe and Garden centre, interior stockist, cafe and events specialist The Garden Society is also a wonderful place to go and chop down your own tree, pick up a pre-cut or find an artificial fir.

I love the ethos of Meon Valley Christmas Trees – locally grown trees for local people, so you can avoid unnecessary airmiles.
Also note that they are Members of the British Christmas Trees Growers Association and they are also the only grower approved to sell at Hampshire Farmers’ Markets. If you’re local, depending on location, they deliver too!

Sometimes you might not be able to find the right time to go and pick a tree, especially in the run up to Christmas. So, here’s some other convenient places you can buy a real Christmas tree inHampshire.
Don’t forget to take…
If you’re looking for real Christmas trees in Hampshire, you’re going to need these essential items…
- A saw – some places are pick your own Christmas tree and you will need a saw if one isn’t supplied
- Gardening gloves – fir trees can be a bit rough, wet or sticky, protect your mitts!
- A waterproof – hello winter, plus it will protect your clothes if your tree is wet or sticky
- A sheet – if you’re worried about your car take a sheet to lay down
- Sturdy shoes – grab those wellington boots
- Your camera – if you want to capture a few snaps
- Face masks and hand sanitiser – don’t make me say the C or P word!

Picking your tree is a Christmas tradition I just love. It marks the start of the festive season and is an experience to share with your family and friends.
Hampshire is blessed with so many places you can get a tree, and the majority are locally sourced with very few travel miles.
I’ve had a real tree for the last five years and they smell amazing. Not only do they transform your space instantly but it adds that extra special festive feeling too.
