Things to do in Hampshire 7 May 2021

Take a look at some ideas across the county in Things To Do In Hampshire 7 May 2021, although you’re going to want to take your waterproofs as it’s set to be stormy over the next few days.

These posts have been very difficult to write since January. And, I don’t know about you but, I’m looking forward to events re-starting and attractions opening across Hampshire from 17 May. Travel that’s not weather dependent, er, it’s a no brainer, yes please!

A bit of normality, and de-isolating myself is going to be no easy feat but, I can’t be a hermit forever and I’m hoping the feelings of anxiety will ease as we go forward.

1. Art & Azaleas on display at Exbury Gardens

The azaleas are on display and so is the Four Seasons Art Exhibition in the Five Arrows Gallery at Exbury Gardens near the Bealieu River.

2. Tour Hampshire’s private gardens with the National Open Garden Scheme

The people of Hampshire throw open their garden gates and invite you to enjoy their gardens. I’ve done a few of these in the past and discovered some stunning gardens across the county. Lots welcome dogs and some men serve refreshments! Pre-book your tickets and full details of your nearest gardens on the National Open Garden Scheme.

3. Explore the garden and enjoy the park pantry at Chawton House

The gardens at Chawton House are beautiful and it’s a fabulous place to explore, it’s one of my favourite places in the county.

4. Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

This is a big garden to explore, so pack your comfy shoes and keep your eyes peeled.

5. Houghton Lodge in Stockbridge

The countdown is on to 17 May but I really hope you can get out to one of these gardens in the meantime. Keep your fingers crossed that the Government’s roadmap stays on track and the vaccinations keep going at a good speed.

What to expect from ‘Things To Do In Hampshire This Weekend’ posts

At the beginning of 2021 I turned my regular Friday Instagram Stories recommendations into a blog post for the new year.

Every Friday I share five things across Hampshire for you to do, eat or visit. Normally my suggestions cover everything from events and places to explore to places to eat and drink at.

I started this series out of lockdown and in under a week we were back under lock and key. But, I haven’t let that stop me still coming up with plenty of ideas for a bit of light relief in lockdown.

It’s one of the only places on my blog where I’ll share things I like the look of but, I may not have tried and tested. It’s nice to support businesses or places you’re yet to visit. After all, I can’t be everywhere all the time! Or can I? Knowing me, I will try!

For guidelines and what to expect from this blog post every week, read the first in the series…
