Portsmouth is blessed to be a coffee shop mecca on the south coast. There’s tons of beautiful independent coffee shops spread out sporadically throughout the graffiti lined streets of Southsea.
A while ago I found Home Coffee, a gorgeous understated little place near the start of Albert Road in Southsea. And, its name does it justice, it feels like you’re at home.
This place oozes cosy coffee shop vibes. I love people watching and spending slow mornings reading, writing and drinking coffee. And, this is the place to do it!
People pop in and out for takeaways, there are other people pottering about their mornings and there’s the perfect window seat to watch the world go by.
Here’s a look at Home Coffee…

The Shore in Penzance is totally out of this world. Bruce Rennie is producing absolutely incredible food and I swear he’s well on his way to a Michelin Star.
He mans his kitchen every night alone, yes, you heard right he makes dishes for an entire restaurant of people alone! And, those dishes change depending on the local ingredients available locally every day.
He creates culinary masterpieces from the local catches and produce he sources from earlier in the day and has just a few hours to put a new menu together.
It’s unique, creative and some of the best food I’ve ever eaten – there’s a handful of meals that I will never forget and this is on it.
If you’re headed to Cornwall book a table at The Shore for an epic food experience…

There’s nothing quite like catching the last of the Christmas feels just before Twelfth Night!
Just because the festivities are over doesn’t mean you have to be done with all those gorgeous decorations and twinkly lights.
I’m loving making the most of my National Trust membership and ticking some local travel hotspots off my bucket list!
Take a look around the gorgeous estate at Mottisfont in Romsey. It embraced a Flower Fairy theme to celebrate Christmas and bring a touch of the beautiful gardens and a bit of fairy magic to the inside of the house.

How hard is it to find unique gifts for that special someone? You know, that person that’s super difficult to buy for, the one that has everything. I always find that a local Christmas market is usually the place to buy a gift for these people you might get stuck trying to find a gift for.
The third annual Etsy Festive Market in Southampton was the biggest yet!
Local independent Etsy makers showcased some incredible gifts in real life in The Spark Building at Solent University.

Here’s a look around the newest breakfast spot and bakery to open in Winchester.
It’s a cafe version of the Hoxton Bakehouse, a bakery in Southampton. It’s so popular that people queue up on a Saturday morning to bag themselves the tastiest loaves in town! Continue reading “New Hoxton Bakehouse launches in Winchester”
