This Hampshire Food and Drink Christmas Gift Guide 2020 is here to help you navigate shopping local and online this festive season.
The majority of shopping this year looks like it will have to be done online or planned for the future.
Supporting local businesses and creators is particularly important this year, more than ever, as we all try and find our way through the challenges the pandemic presents.
But, will us Brits let is dampen our Christmas spirit? Hell no, I hear you cry, especially not when it comes to the food and fizz. We’re resilient creatives who, by hook or by crook, will spread some festive cheer thanks to the modern wonder of online ordering.
Here’s some of my favourite local food and drink to give you some gift ideas this year.

Paradise Pizza in Polzeath is serving up beautiful fresh wood fired pizza on the beach. Could it beeeeeee any more perfect?
I am here for the freshly made, dough with big air bubbles, sexy toppings and all that super hot wood fired flavour.
Yeah, so if you haven’t guessed, I like pizza a lot. And, this is my go to pizza spot in Polzeath. Pizza on the beach anyone? The answer is always yes by the way!
Deliveroo and Uber Eats do not deliver to my area, and I do not live in a remote place, I’m not bitter…much!
When I’m at home, which at the moment like most of you, is all the time, I’ll be getting my foodie kicks from a bit of home cooking and whatever series Netflix can offer me!
I’ve found some cracking series that will give you all the food thrills and spills with a little travel along the way too.

The Shore in Penzance is totally out of this world. Bruce Rennie is producing absolutely incredible food and I swear he’s well on his way to a Michelin Star.
He mans his kitchen every night alone, yes, you heard right he makes dishes for an entire restaurant of people alone! And, those dishes change depending on the local ingredients available locally every day.
He creates culinary masterpieces from the local catches and produce he sources from earlier in the day and has just a few hours to put a new menu together.
It’s unique, creative and some of the best food I’ve ever eaten – there’s a handful of meals that I will never forget and this is on it.
If you’re headed to Cornwall book a table at The Shore for an epic food experience…

Jersey’s restaurant scene is thriving and a heavy weight punching well above its size is Locke’s Coffee and Grub.
This glass fronted ex-record shop is now an awesome restaurant with a friendly team, incredible coffee and awesome food.
A trip to Jersey isn’t complete if you’ve not visited, and it easily shot to the top of my favourite restaurants on the island.

Portsmouth is a treasure trove of great breakfast and brunch spots. I feel really spoilt to have all these awesome independents on my doorstep.
Southsea Coffee is no exception and a stellar cornerstone of the local food scene, it’s been thriving since 2013!
Plus it’s within walking distance of Southsea Common and the sea front. There’s nothing like a brisk stroll along the shore followed by food and coffee. That’s how you win at weekends!
Find out why this is one of my favourite places to go…

ad* Nestled in the leafy Hampshire village of Otterbourne is the beautiful country pub and restaurant The Old Forge.
It’s recently just opened after undergoing a major transformation and I fell in love with the dreamy velvet, rich tones and metallic finishing touches.
This in addition to the open fireplaces, exposed brickwork and low beamed ceilings make it the perfect winter hideaway!
The mix of traditional English pub and luxury interior is a winning combination and I am so into its cosy vibes. With the festive season kicking in, it’s good to have a few places like up your sleeve when you’re looking for places to visit with friends and family.
I was invited to take a look around and try the new menu, take a look…
