Right in the heart of the Candover Valley is The Yard, a cafe offering a unique location for a coffee, food and curated special events.
The stunning chic converted barn, outdoor yard and friendly, relaxed atmosphere are just a couple of the reasons you’ll fall in love with the place.
I spent a morning tucking into savoury treats, sipping coffee and enjoying the sun as the farm’s resident swallows ducked and dived over my head.
Here’s why I’d urge you to travel into the centre of Hampshire to discover The Yard…Continue reading “The Yard at Chilton Candover, Alresford”
The Pig in the New Forest is hands down my favourite restaurant ever.
It’s technically a restaurant with a very beautiful selection of rooms that you can stay in too. A stay here will give you ample opportunity to enjoy the restaurant, some well earned time out and the delights of the surrounding National Park.
If you’ve not been to The Pig, here’s a little insight into why you should go and why it’s my absolute number one place to eat.Continue reading “The Pig in the New Forest”

Breakfast by the river is the best way to romanticise your Saturday morning meal. Fresh air, tasty food and a catch up with friends and family in a place that feels like you’re in a film, well that’s one powerful aesthetic. These are my favourite kinds of places.
In the quaint parks of Bedford hides a brilliant little cafe by the rowing club called The Longholme. It balances those smarter vibes with some more casual ones and could easily be the scene for a cute date or a family catch up.
Even drizzly mornings can be perked up with a couple of hours beside a beautiful riverside, add in food and you’re golden.
It’s a hidden part of Bedford that you’re going to want to put on your visit list…Continue reading “Breakfast by the river at The Longholme, Bedford”
Portsmouth is blessed to be a coffee shop mecca on the south coast. There’s tons of beautiful independent coffee shops spread out sporadically throughout the graffiti lined streets of Southsea.
A while ago I found Home Coffee, a gorgeous understated little place near the start of Albert Road in Southsea. And, its name does it justice, it feels like you’re at home.
This place oozes cosy coffee shop vibes. I love people watching and spending slow mornings reading, writing and drinking coffee. And, this is the place to do it!
People pop in and out for takeaways, there are other people pottering about their mornings and there’s the perfect window seat to watch the world go by.
Here’s a look at Home Coffee…Continue reading “Brunch at Home Coffee, Southsea”
The Shore in Penzance is totally out of this world. Bruce Rennie is producing absolutely incredible food and I swear he’s well on his way to a Michelin Star.
He mans his kitchen every night alone, yes, you heard right he makes dishes for an entire restaurant of people alone! And, those dishes change depending on the local ingredients available locally every day.
He creates culinary masterpieces from the local catches and produce he sources from earlier in the day and has just a few hours to put a new menu together.
It’s unique, creative and some of the best food I’ve ever eaten – there’s a handful of meals that I will never forget and this is on it.
If you’re headed to Cornwall book a table at The Shore for an epic food experience…
