Hampshire’s Chawton House and New Exhibition ‘Man Up!’

Hampshire’s Chawton House and New Exhibition ‘Man Up!’

ᵃᵈ My International Women’s Day 2020 was next level! I was invited to a curator’s talk to launch a brand new exhibition about strong women called ‘Man Up: Women who stepped into a man’s world’ at Chawton House!

Not only was the historic house, in the heart of Hampshire, a fantastic travel discovery but, the insight into the exhibition from its creator added another dimension.

Learning about all those strong women who stepped up and thrived in a predominantly male environment was so interesting and gave me a real education to what life was like during the eighteenth century.

I felt very lucky I could take my Mum and experience this unique exhibition with her on International Women’s Day – what a fantastic memory to have!

Take a look at Chawton House and the new Man Up! exhibition…

Lunch at The Hut Behind the Hedge

Rock has some great places to eat and The Hut Behind The Hedge is no exception – a great little lunch or snack stop!

In fact, the term ‘hidden gem’ is over used but this is one and not well known out of local circles. If you’re headed to Rock, support local and make sure you order a slice of cake.

Take a look at the bright blue cabin which is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area…

Finding healthy habit motivation at Whiteley Shopping Centre

ᵃᵈ Kickstarting healthy habits is hard, isn’t it? The January new year, new you ‘let’s make resolutions’ bandwagon doesn’t work for me.

Instead I need a bit of gentle motivation to remind me that I enjoy going to the gym, and my social life doesn’t have to suffer, works wonders.
The lovely team at Whiteley Shopping Centre knew I needed a bit of a boost post accident and invited me to spend the day discovering the great shops and to have dinner at one of the restaurants to help me get motivated.
Here’s how I spent my day, the new gym kit I picked up and where I had a spot of dinner…
