Spring style from Lighthouse clothing

ᵃᵈ  Discovering new brands is fun, especially when its clothes! Lighthouse is new to me, based in Northern Ireland, this coastal living brand is a great all rounder with a focus on outdoor jackets.

Recently I was gifted some great items from its new collection this season just before we all went into lock down. I can’t wait to wear them out once this is all over.

Here’s the items I’ve picked to see me through Spring…

Ok, so what are the Spring essentials? Light layers, versatile pieces and a good waterproof for those drip, drip drop little April shower days.

For me, it’s a good coat, a comfy t-shirt to run around in and a little dress to bridge those warmer days when it feels more like Summer. I like things that are practical, versatile as well as those pieces you can dress up.

We won’t be in lock down forever and these pieces I know I’ll use time and time again…

The Outback Coat

I’ve been looking for a new walking jacket, something light but long for the inevitable showers that can come out of nowhere in Spring.

I love that heritage look, and when I saw these long sweeping coats called ‘Outback’ in the new season section on the Lighthouse website my mind wandered.

In my head my imagination had conjured up quite the fantasy! I was whimsically imagining myself walking over heathland with the coat flowing behind me, power walking in Beyonce formation style with the grace of a country living goddess.

When it arrived, it lived up to expectations, cute details, a tartan lining and a huge hood. The only thing stopping me was that I couldn’t do the photo shoot I had planned to capture it perfectly. But, in these strange times safety comes first and I utilised the tiny wooded area at my house!

The biggest surprise was the weight of the coat, it’s SO light. Often these types of jackets are heavier but this one surpassed my expectation by being full length and a very manageable weight.

I sized up so I am able to get layers underneath, I think my actual size wouldn’t have allowed me to do that and I think with coats that’s important for versatility.

I can tell I’m going to have this coat for years and it will be the reliable number I pull out for Autumn, Winter and Spring. I can’t wait to team my wide brimmed big black hat with it to style it up!

Sunrise Night Sky Stripe Merino Scarf

My love for scarves is real. I have a lot and this is a beautiful addition to my collection. Chic grey soft merino wool, with a graded mustard stripe running through it, it’s an instant classic.

It will go with everything from walks in the countryside to a white shirt, black skinny jeans and heels. Perfect!

Seashore T Shirt in Rose Pink Stripe

You’ve got to have those daily staples and this cute t-shirt in pastel pink is a little bit of Spring in your wardrobe. I’ll be matching the blossom!

100% cotton and super soft, this will go with jeans, under little dresses and dungarees all while looking very cute indeed.

The t-shirt is fairly fitted, but it’s a nice fit and most importantly for me it has length in the body. I don’t like t-shirts that are too short but, this is a great length so I could tuck it in if I want to as well.

I’ve lived in this since I got it, it’s very comfortable and washes really well!

Bay Blue Stripe Summer Dress

I love dresses with pockets and this dress has two big pockets!

This summer dress is so pretty, channelling all those sunny coastal holiday vibes. It’s also a decent length, us tall gals struggle with covering our bums and thighs all while maintaining some dignity- if you know, you know. Same for shorter gals who need to get things taken up, us Amazons have the opposite issue, the only bummer is you can rarely take things down!

It’s a button up and can be styled with a little t-shirt under it or just as it is. I have tried it on but the weather hasn’t been right for me to be outside in it yet, it’s still a little chilly and I write this on a very windy March day!

I really like the fact the dress has two stretch side panels, making it a very comfortable fit. Also, if my weight fluctuates a little this beautiful dress is going to be able to ride those changes out!

Lighthouse Clothing

Lighthouse is a clothing brand designed for everyday adventures, creating clothes that are great all rounders all while being versatile. I can’t wait to pack these in my suitcase for my trip to Cornwall later this year and I’m in love with the heritage coat that’s going to let me live out my best country chic life!

If you like the look of the pieces I picked, head to the Lighthouse Clothing website and take a look at the whole range.

A big thank you to the Lighthouse team for sending these items over, I can’t wait to get out properly in them and feel awful that I’ve not been able to get out properly show them off.

What strange times – but, a little material happiness has done me the world of good. Thank you Lighthouse for the best perk a gal could get in the first weekend of quarantine, a delivery of great clothes!
