Southampton gets stylish with the launch of All Bar One

It’s been a busy week. The next wave of restaurants and bars opened at Southampton’s new Westquay building.

All Bar One celebrated its launch with a VIP party which showcased its menu and cocktails. I was lucky to receive an invite to see what this new hot spot has to offer.

These openings are a welcome break from the usual tedium of January, there’s nothing like sipping cocktails while laughing with friends to keep the nip of winter away.

Welcome to All Bar One in Southampton!

Sounds like a plan to me

The new bar will be a welcome addition to Southampton’s night scene and will serve as a great place to start the night off, catch up with friends or for that well-earnt after work drink. It would also be the perfect place for a date!

Visually All Bar One is stunning, full of quirky embellishments and cosy corners. Sections keep the crowds at bay and there are lots of places to sit with your cocktail of choice. To do it justice I’ve filled this post with pictures to give a sense of the stylish mix of industrial metals, woods and tiles.

Wave blue tiles reflect light and look like the sea!

Talking about the drinks, the cocktails looked delicious. Unfortunately I was the responsible driver, so I can’t wait to go back and give them all a try. The perky pink of the cosmos particularly caught my eye.

Over the course of the evening samples off the menu did the rounds. This was a great idea as it provided the opportunity to try lots of different dishes. The Lamb Kibbeh, turmeric spiced rice shells filled with mince, were one of my favourites along with Feta & Spinach Bourek which I can only describe as a feta cheese samosa. Melt in your mouth goodness!

Lamb Kibbeh – you get in my life!

Crispy Duck Dumplings – so tasty!

Feta & Spinach Bourek – the flavour was outstanding!

Salt & Pepper Calamari – a classic!

These were like onion bhajis, but the onion was replaced with kale – mourish and satisfying! I’m so sorry I didn’t get the name of these veggie delights!

Cute sliders!

Chloe, our waitress, knew so much about the dishes and offers available, and let me know about the Five O’Clock Cocktails. It’s like she knows me! This is the equivalent of a happy hour, every Sunday to Thursday from 5pm a selection of cocktails are £4.95. Watch out All Bar One, I will be back!

All Bar One Southampton is paving the way for the popular chain, this is the first of five new bars planned for 2017. If they are anything like this one other towns and cities are in for a treat.

If you fancy trying All Bar One at West Quay call 02380 016573 to book a table and find out more.

Thanks so much to the team at All Bar One for such a warm welcome and enjoyable evening. I can’t wait to come back with my girls to work our way through the cocktail menu.

  1. Oh my goodness that bar is sooo visually stimulating I love it! I love when you walk into a restaurant, store, whatever and theres a lot to look at. It helps with short attention span lol But what a great place and how lucky that you got an invite to be one of the first to try it! When I saw Southhampton I was hoping NYC but nope, out of the country for me lol At least I got to visit through your post 🙂

    xo, JJ

    1. Oh I’m so sorry, and how kind of you to leave a post! I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures – you’re right it’s a real visual treat. It is in the UK in a place as equally near the water as most places in NYC…the very south coast of England! You’ll have to post some things in NYC so I can see them too! x
