I’ve taken my handy guide to the wonderful farms and fields across the county that I wrote in 2020 and 2021 and updated it for 2022 with all the essential information you need to know where to go pumpkin picking. The countdown to Halloween is on!
Where to go in Hampshire
Hubble bubble toil and trouble! What a delightful, wholesome tradition pumpkin picking is, heralding Autumn and wishing Summer a hearty farewell.
Log fires, warm orange hues and spiced everything signals the descent into Winter. And, this particular tradition is one of my favourite, I’ve been going since a child and it fills me with total and utter joy.
The pagan festivities of Halloween are my jam. It makes me feel connected to the earth and boots me out of the house when all I want to do is go into hibernation mode.
Hampshire isn’t short of wonderous locations to find knobbly gourds, superior squash and perfect pumpkins.
Pick your own pumpkins
A few things to note before you head out pumpkin picking in Hampshire…
- The farms, shops and patches are in alphabetical order by location, so you can easily find somewhere to visit near you.
- Information is still being released for the farms, so I’ll keep updating this as information is released.
- Adverse weather warning – like 2021, the weather hasn’t been favourable this year for crops so please keep this in mind when visiting the farms.

Please note – It will be a bit different this year as they’ve expanded the offering into a larger ‘Pumpkin Time’ experience. And, we’re further out of lockdown/pandemic restrictions.
Essential pumpkin picking tips…
Here’s a list of items worth considering taking to go pumpkin picking in Hampshire…
- Something waterproof
- A sheet to protect your car
- Sturdy shoes or wellingtons for the uneven farm land
- A camera or phone for some autumnal snaps
- Hand sanitiser – don’t make me say the C or P word!
