A guide to Pumpkin Picking in Hampshire 2021

Where to pick your own pumpkins in Hampshire this Autumn? The countdown to Halloween is on!

I’ve taken my handy guide to the wonderful farms and fields across the county that I wrote in 2020 and updated it for 2021 with all the essential information you need to know where to go pumpkin picking…

Where to pick pumpkins in Hampshire

I’ve been going pumpkin picking since I was a child all over Hampshire and well, just never stopped! It’s a family tradition that I’ve never let go and I love it. It signals the start of Autumn, the pagan festivities of Halloween and brings those warm orange hues into the home.

Pumpkin carving, decorating and then cooking them up into curries, soup and pasta sauces and bakes. My favourite bit is roasting the seeds with smoked paprika – delicious!

A few things to note before we get into it…

  • The farms, shops and patches are in alphabetical order by location, so you can easily find somewhere to visit near you.
  • Information is still being released for the farms, so I’ll keep updating this as information is released.
  • Adverse weather warning – It’s worth noting that while I don’t think pumpkins have been effected, the poor weather has hit farms quite badly. Other crops like the strawberries and sunflowers were a bit late and badly effected this year.

Read my review of Sunnyfield’s after last year’s visit… PICK YOUR OWN PUMPKINS AT SUNNYFIELDS FARM

It will be a bit different this year as they’ve expanded the offering into a larger ‘Pumpkin Time’ experience. And, obviously we’re further out of lockdown/pandemic restrictions.

Essential pumpkin picking tips…

Here’s a list of items worth considering taking to pick your own pumpkins in Hampshire…

  • Something waterproof
  • A sheet to protect your car
  • Sturdy shoes for the uneven farm land
  • A camera or phone for some autumnal snaps
  • Face masks and hand sanitiser – don’t make me say the C or P word!
