A new champagne pop up at the Emirates Spinnaker Tower is the toast of Portsmouth this summer.
Champagne Sundays allows guests to take in stunning sunset views of Portsmouth Harbour while sipping on the finest fizz most Sunday evenings from 11 June through to 10 September.
The Spinnaker Tower team kindly invited me to the launch event with the Southampton Bloggers on Thursday evening for a sneak peek.
Greeted with a glass of Castelnau Champagne, the scene was set with a beautiful acoustic guitar set from Nathan Turner, who is also known as Proper Little Soul Boy.
The views from the top of the tower are impressive, View Deck 1 is 100 metres above sea level and on clear days you can see for miles.
Unfortunately the heavens opened on this visit and down came the famous British rain just as we were admiring the views.
But, don’t be discouraged, seeing the downpour and the sheets of rain provided a very different view that was surprisingly captivating.
Guests were encouraged to brave the window walkway, a piece of glass flooring that can be walked across without shoes on. (I’m pretty sure that the bubbles provide a bit of dutch courage to those who aren’t the biggest fan on heights or walking on glass!)
It was a lovely way to spend an evening and I think I’ll be heading back to catch a sunset during the summer.

Champagne Sundays will run every Sunday from 11 June to 10 September (excluding 6 August).
Tickets include a glass of Castelnau Champagne on arrival, live acoustic music and access to the Emirates Spinnaker Tower.
Additional drinks including Lanson Black, Veuve Cliquot and Hambledon Sparkling Wines can be purchased from the dedicated bar.
