Wood fired pizza, Mermaid Gin and sunshine on the HarBar on 6th terrace overlooking the Solent – now that’s how to do summer evenings on the south coast!
Come and take a look around the roof terrace of the Southampton Harbour Hotel…

What a fabulous evening spent basking in the sun on one of the hottest days of the year. Good company, incredible gin and delicious pizza created a wonderful atmosphere.
The terrace has a full length bar, plenty of lovely comfortable seating and a wood fired oven for fast, tasty pizza.
Kicking the evening off was the lovely team from Mermaid Gin, from the Isle of Wight, with a proper gin bar. We could pick flavoured tonics and all the garnishes we’d like to go with our drinks. They had lots of fruit and botanicals that we could mix into our drinks to enhance them. This is my idea of a good time!

I first had Mermaid Gin the other weekend at Common People and really enjoyed it. But, it was much better trying it in this setting with all the proper trimmings. It reaffirmed how much I like this gin – it’s unbelievably smooth!
This is the first event where I’ve had a proper drink as I’m always driving. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a couple of drinks and unwind after a day at work. I don’t often get that opportunity (or drink during the week) so it was a real treat.

Thankfully soaking up the gin was a lot of delicious seafood pizza. I mean, just look at these pizzas…
Samphire on pizza added a delicious salty kick. It really surprised me as I’d never have put the two together!
Smoked salmon on pizza also was also a welcome surprise. Perhaps a salty topping adds some balance to the dough and cheese? Who knows, all I know is that it was right up my street. The flavours of this pizza were bang on! I could have demolished the whole thing.

An absolute whopper of a thanks to the team at Southampton Harbour Hotels* and Mermaid Gin for a fantastic evening.
We had a great time chatting in the sun, it was so incredibly relaxing and just what was needed!

Get yourself to the terrace and make the most of this sun. Summer’s here guys – this is not a drill!
*PR experience – gifted food and drink, but all my opinions are my own otherwise what’s the point?! AND seriously with pizza like that, it would be chuffing hard not to like it!
That food 😍 mouth envy. What a lovely day as well for the event. Beautiful photos !xx
Thanks Abby! Yeah it was fun, and so relaxing. Defo worth a visit, that view is 👌🏻 x
I’ve never been to Southampton – I think I’m going to have to pay a visit, looks beautiful x
It’s improving and you’re so close to the New Forest, Bournemouth, and Isle of Wight. There are some really nice parts! Where abouts are you then? x
It always looks lovely & the New Forest is amazing! I am in High Wycombe which is just West of London but we are looking to move to Wiltshire next year to be in the country!x
Oh wicked – I have friends in High Wycombe – Wiltshire is gorgeous! Plus very close to Southampton so you could do a Southampton visit!
No way – what a small world!! Ah I know I love Wiltshire it’s so beautiful. We definitely will be 😊🌸
Looks fab – definitely on my hit list.
Those pizzas are out of this world! Wow. I am drooling!
They were so good! There’s nothing like a pizza form a wood fired oven!
