It’s not often you’ll get dinner cooked for you by a MasterChef winner in an intimate setting like the world’s first hometel!
But, that’s what happened and I honestly had to pinch myself.

A special dinner was held in one the brand new room2 hometel rooms to celebrate the current Dine at Mine campaign and Shelina Permalloo cooked up a feast.

Dine at Mine is the current fundraising campaign run by Southampton Hospital Charity to raise money to complete the new Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department.

It is hoped the supper club will help to generate awareness and inspire local people to do a dinner party with a difference with friends or family to raise money for the appeal.
It’s definitely made me want to host one, even if it’s just to try out Shelina’s awesome recipes and raise some money for charity. My house isn’t quite as beautiful as the room2 hometel though – what a perfect setting!
Shelina Permalloo, MasterChef 2012 winner, top tv celebrity chef, restaurant owner and all round incredible human is an ambassador for Southampton Hospital Charity’s Dine at Mine fundraising campaign.
During the evening she cooked an incredible three course meal in the hometel room from the recipes she wrote for the fundraising packs. On a side note, how cool is it that a high end chef can cook an incredible meal like this in a hometel room!

Bloggers and vloggers from around Southampton were treated to three courses of sumptuous Mauritian food.
Here’s the gorgeous menu we were treated to…

The night was a dinner party with a difference and I can’t wait to hold my own Dine at Mine!* I had a wonderful time with wonderful people and absolutely delicious Mauritian food. It was a one of a kind experience!
There’s still time to host a Dine at Mine event and raise some money, visit the Southampton Hospital Charity website and download a pack now to get started.
If you like the look and sound of Shelina’s food why not visit her restaurant called Lakaz Maman up in Bedford Place, Southampton. I’ve been many times and just love the atmosphere and food – it’s one of my favourite local restaurants.
For more information or to book at room2 head over to www.room2.com – it’s well worth a look and if you directly compared it to similar priced hotels in the area it totally kicks ass. A lot of style, comfort and convenience and most importantly more bang for your buck.
And, on a totally hilarious note, you’re going to want to get this on your Instagram because it’s gorgeous!
So I’ve leave you with a few snaps from the room2 tour to round off a night and give a glimpse into hometel life…
