Come and take a look at the exciting new pop-up photo studio in Guildhall Square, Southampton!
In the heart of the Cultural Quarter professional photographers are ready to take pictures of people in an array of festive fancy dress. The Cue Camera team are encouraging friends and family to get christmassy, even the dog is welcome!

Yesterday a special blogger preview event was held, and I was invited to take a little look around and before it opened its doors to the public today.
If you think it’s going to be like other photo booths you’ve been to, think again! This isn’t any old photo booth, throw those preconceptions away, this is a fully equipped studio with hundreds of costumes and professional photographers ready to capture your best poses. I’ve never been to anything like this before!
The outside…
The studio has been created out of two shipping containers that have been luxuriously renovated, kitted out with the latest ‘blue screen’ photographic equipment and covered in gold panels. You can’t miss it, it’s really eye catching.

Come on in and take a peek!

The process…
Cue Camera’s special ‘blue screen’ background allows photographs to be transformed in post-production. It’s bit like you’re making a movie, once the picture has been taken the technicians then replace the background with a festive scene. They’ve even got screens up so you can watch the transformation take place. Magic!

The charity…
From each Cue Camera booking a portion of the profit is being donated to Benali’s Big Race.
Francis Benali used to play for Southampton Football Club. Francis now raises awareness and money for Cancer Research UK. His latest sponsorship endeavour saw him take on a a run and cycle around all 44 Premier League and Championship football grounds.
Fran teamed up with Matt Le Tissier to help launch Cue Camera by doing their own photo shoot.

The blogger event…
After looking around and being welcomed by Cue Camera’s creator, Brad Hurter, it was time to pick an outfit. With so many to pick from it was so hard to know where to start. They have everything from Christmas puddings to the big man himself. Some of the costumes are ‘all-in-ones’ which you can literally put over your clothes or, at the other end of the spectrum, pull on some candy cane tights to complement a full elf costume! Perhaps you’d like to be an inflatable turkey? Yep, they’ve got that too!
Everyone began to get changed (they have changing facilities!) and fits of giggles erupted as we were transformed in to our festive alter-egos. Suddenly elves, angels and reindeer were running round spreading festive cheer, for all to hear!
We could try more than one outfit, but I decided on the Christmas tree and knew that was the one for me.

As you can tell from the photos it’s so much fun, I’d definitely recommend it. All throughout the event people were laughing non-stop, the outfits got people in the Christmas spirit and the photographers knew just what to say to get everyone posing.
It’s going to be a great addition to a Christmas night out, a family photo or to grab the perfect pic of you and your pet!
