Hampshire Food and Drink Christmas Gift Guide 2020

This Hampshire Food and Drink Christmas Gift Guide 2020 is here to help you navigate shopping local and online this festive season.

The majority of shopping this year looks like it will have to be done online or planned for the future.

Supporting local businesses and creators is particularly important this year, more than ever, as we all try and find our way through the challenges the pandemic presents.

But, will us Brits let is dampen our Christmas spirit? Hell no, I hear you cry, especially not when it comes to the food and fizz. We’re resilient creatives who, by hook or by crook, will spread some festive cheer thanks to the modern wonder of online ordering.

Here’s some of my favourite local food and drink to give you some gift ideas this year.

10 Zero Waste Shops in Hampshire

10 Zero Waste Shops in Hampshire

Here’s 10 zero waste shops in Hampshire that will help you make a few changes to your basket.

Sustainable shops are becoming increasingly popular and with good reason. I mean we’ve all watched the latest David Attenborough documentary, seen that turtle who has a straw stuck in his nose or the seahorse wrapped around a plastic cotton bud, haven’t we?

If you want to make a few changes here’s some great shops that will help you on your way….

Proudfoot & Co – British Drinks Innovators in Winchester

Proudfoot & Co – British Drinks Innovators in Winchester

Proudfoot & Co in Winchester is serving up drinks #ForTheBoldandCurious derived from foraged, fermented and barrel aged goods.

Owner Eoghan is an expert in all things botanical and foraged and a whizz at inventing, rediscovering and reinterpreting drinks to devour.

‘Life should be full of constant discovery’ is Proudfoot’s tag line, which I couldn’t agree more with. If you like something a bit different and want to discover something new then this one’s going to be right up your street.

I totally fell in love with this place, from the wildly knowledgable owner, the pretty interior and truly unique and incredible drinks…

The Street Bakeshop, Old Basing

The Street Bakeshop, Old Basing

The Street Bakeshop in Old Basing is a hybrid, half cafe, half bakery and it combines the two elements perfectly.

This is the place to go in Basingstoke for breakfast and to pick up a loaf. Top quality food, baked goods and coffee. Oh, and some rather magnificent cake.

Basingstoke has really lacked this sort of coffee scene and I’m so excited to see a proper independent coffee scene emerge here.

Take a look around…

Pizza at The Greyhound on the Test

Pizza at The Greyhound on the Test

Pizza at The Greyhound on the Test is exactly where you want to spend your summer evenings. Oh my what an aesthetic!

This is by far, the most Instagram friendly, super chilled restaurant I’ve been to in a while.

Come and take a look around this beautiful pub with a stellar garden set up nestled in the heart of Stockbridge. Oh and they do Hoxton Bakehouse pizza too, no biggie…

…yes, I booked a table so fast it was like when Superman reversed the world for Lois Lane.
