Chihuly Art Exhibition at Kew Royal Botanic Gardens

Chihuly Art Exhibition at Kew Royal Botanic Gardens

It had been a long time since I’d visited Kew Gardens and I had certainly never been to on if its ‘after dark’ events.

American artist Dale Chihuly created some beautiful glass sculptures influenced by flora and fauna which was a natural fit for the Royal Botanic Gardens in London.

This magical exhibition cleverly used colour, light and music to bring a magnificent artistic twist to the landscape while giving exclusive access to the gardens after hours.

I tried my best to capture these stunning installations, take a look…

Happy Winter Solstice!

Celebrating the shortest day of the year at Stonehenge in Wiltshire is a real privilege. Winter and summer solstice is the only time of the year you can go into the stone circle and touch them. It’s totally incredible and my second year spending solstice at the stones.

The unique experience is one to tick off the bucket list for many people and CCN Travel were interested in my trip and images to share with their readers…

Teva Sandals

Teva Sandals

Take a look at my review of Teva sandals if you are you looking for a great all round shoe for your next adventure.

Getting the right kit for your trip is really very important. Finding decent shoes is a real struggle especially when you’re trying to fit a month’s worth of clothes and supplies to fit in a 20kg suitcase.

Before heading to Australia I did so much research to find great items that would be versatile, would mean I could pack light and above all else were quality and could survive the elements and being put through its paces.

Footwear is tricky when your travel adventure has you hiking in rainforest and up mountains one moment, clambering through rock pools the next and then hitting the city to sight see.

I discovered Teva a week before I left and thanks to next day delivery I’ve had a solid two years of adventuring with excellent sandals!

Art, coffee and history at God’s House Tower in Southampton

Art, coffee and history at God’s House Tower in Southampton

Southampton’s old archaeology museum has been transformed into a new arts space by A Space Arts with the support of a whole host of funders.

FINALLY! The city has been crying out for more art spaces, culture and a step away from the huge chains that fill our high street. While they have their place in Southampton, the city lacks balance – now is the time for more independents, retail and places for live music.

Take a look at this fantastic new addition to the city centre…

Myths, legends and stunning scenery at Tintagel Castle, North Cornwall

Myths, legends and stunning scenery at Tintagel Castle, North Cornwall

Who wasn’t captured by the legend of King Arthur as a child?

Mythical Camelot, knights of the round table and Merlin the magician romanticise history and places across the whole of the UK. I’ve been a fan of the stories, films and art work inspired by these tales and that have influenced popular culture.

Tintagel Castle on North Cornwall’s rugged coastline has been inextricably linked to the legend for many years.

Headed to Cornwall? Need some trip inspiration? Take a look at my visit hiking round Tintagel and crossing the new bridge that re-connects the island to the mainland.
