17You change your mind, like a girl changes clothes…
For the ever indecisive of us, and yes I class myself within this group, bottomless tacos, where you can pick any of and as many of the tacos as you like, is the DREAM!
And, that’s where Bonita’s Southsea steps in with it’s Taco Tuesday offer – it corners the market and conquers it. Actually it stamps all over the competition unapologetically while telling you you’re pretty and feeding you tacos.
Bonita’s has landed bringing its own blend of fusion Mexican food, humorous cocktails and Beyonce Brunches to the South Coast.
Heading to Portsmouth? You’re going to want to check this restaurant out because those tacos are hella-good!
And, don’t forget your camera because, Bonita’s is as pretty as a picture and you’re going to want to put it on your Instagram…
I visited on a Tuesday night, with my gal Lydia for a long over-due catch up and to check out this new restaurant and figure out what the hype is all about.
Dinner Deals
Tuesday is, as we know is fondly known as Taco Tuesday, and it’s when Bonita’s run their bottomless taco offer – all you can eat tacos and quesadillas for £15. What a deal!
But, alongside their main menu they offer regular and super fantastic week night dinner deals. They range from all kinds of things but the two things they’ve run lately that caught my eye are the bottomless brunches, happy hour and Wednesday night hump day deals where you can get 50% off food when you buy a drink. It’s worth taking a look to see what’s on and when you want to go.
We opted for a Tuesday so we could try lots of different things on the menu so I could report back!
Frozen Margaritas & Cocktails
On tap there are three frozen margarita flavours, I’m not sure if they change the flavour but when I went there was classic lime margarita, berry and passionfruit with vanilla to pick from.
After settling at our table and ordering classic frozen margaritas, I sat sipping a big tasty drink and began to relax. It was just what I needed after a long day at work!
Bottomless Tacos
I’m in love, I’m in love, I’mmmmmm innnnn LOVVVVEEE! Get me the Donna Summer out of here, these tacos are LIFE!
Here’s what we ate…
The Chicken taco – crispy buttermilk chicken with salsa, pickled pink onions and lashings of chipotle sauce…
The Burnt Ends taco – brisket covered in a special rub and glazed in a homemade BBQ sauce and topped off with a tomato salsa and crispy onions…
The Carnitas taco – a pulled pork in a sweet smokey BBQ sauce topped with a pimiento and poblano sauce and pineapple and mustard salsa…
The Dorito Fried Fish taco – a long piece of cod covered in a Dorito crumb served with chipotle sauce…
There’s quite a big range of tacos to pick from, there is also tuna, duck, halloumi, mushroom to name a few.

It’s also accompanied by bottomless curly fries, they just kept coming and coming!
I think next time I’ll be skipping lunch when I go as there was a lot of food and I’m not sure I really did my best attempt at bottomless tacos. I will be going back again soon and can’t wait to try some other things from the menu.
I’ve already got my eye on the zucchini and halloumi tacos too, both sound delicious!
Not only is there plenty of meaty options but there’s also loads of vegetarian and vegan options too – the menu is well thought through!
Alongside ordering tacos there seemed to be an endless conveyor belt of quesadillas in every flavour making its way around the room.
I tried the cheese, the chicken and the pulled pork but there were plenty more doing the rounds that I could have tried. It was nice that they bought these round on platters so you can have them in-between taco courses too.
Top tip – Taco Tuesdays have to be booked in advance which can be done online with a few simple clicks and paying in advance.
Menu
The normal menu is full of the the same range of tacos, tostadas and quesadillas with the addition of nibbles and Bonita Bowls.
I’d really like to go back and try one of the Bonita Bowls which are a salad based meal with plenty of toppings including quinoa, guacamole and rainbow slaw.
Much to my distress I didn’t notice that churros is the pudding of choice, so I’ll definitely be trying these when I head there next.
Instagram Interior
Well where do I start? Neon lights, snappy slogans, hanging plants and a flower swing are just a few the of the features that make you feel like you’ve walked into someone’s Instagram post.
A personal favourite is the fake flower telephone box with a secret door to the outside seating area.
It’s colourful and bright and the sort of hang out that’s great for overdue catch ups with friends, a few drinks and fixing some negative vibes if you’ve had a bad day.

Location
Follow the bright and alluring neon pink lights shining like a beacon on Palmerston Road in Southsea.
You’ll discover some incredible dinner deals to make even the darkest, coldest of evenings a lot of fun.
I already know I’ll be taking a few friends, my boyfriend and probably my Mum back to this awesome spot for all the taco goodness!
