A night at Hilton at the Ageas Bowl Southampton

There’s nothing like a good nights sleep, and recently I had a wonderful bit of shut eye when I was invited* to experience the Hilton Hotel at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

Come take a peek at my room with its stunning view and comfortable bed…

I couldn’t help but climb on the bed straight away!

I was absolutely delighted to be invited for an overnight stay at the Hilton, a little break was just what I needed and the facilities at the hotel did not disappoint.

The hotel is local to me and it was so nice to not be far from home but away from all the normal stresses – a lovely little break! Once we’d checked in I could settle down, pop a film on and treat myself to hair, face and foot masks which I’d normally not have time to do!

Smart luxury oozes from the Hilton and my room was the perfect combination of practical and stylish. The room had a big bed, a sofa area, a decent sized desk and balcony with seats to look out over the incredible view of the cricket ground.

Here’s a little tour of the room…

The bed and sofa (it isn’t as neat because I jumped on the bed as soon as I arrived – see the picture below!)
Peace at last!
The desk – great for catching up with emails, finishing work or pouring out a well deserved drink!
Henry says this is how I sleep. I beg to differ! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

This bit is for the ladies – the bathroom was perfect for getting ready in. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»Β It’s silly little things but, it made all the difference to getting ready. The sink was easily big enough for me to wash my face and do my normal routine before bed without spilling water all over the floor.

As well as a large mirror that had a light strip around the edge there was also a handy smaller magnifying mirror for checking out your face up close. It made me realise it was time to pay some attention to my eyebrows! The mini mirror also had a ring light around the edge – brilliant for sorting your make up out too.

If you’d forgotten anything there was a selection of Crabtree and Evelyn hotel toiletries by the sink – so cute!

The shower was so big!
I adored this balcony, the cute rattan furniture and big glass sliding doors made it feel very homely

In the evening I made Henry a gin and tonic and we stood looking out across the cricket ground which was beautifully lit up. It was lovely to see somewhere local from an entirely new perspective. We both commented on the fact that if you are a cricket fan, a stay at the home of Hampshire cricket would be a real treat!

I don’t feel this picture does the magical view any justice – you’ll just have to take my word for it!

The next morning I woke up early as I’d also been invited to a spa day at the Eforea spa situated within the hotel. I wanted to make the most of the facilities, I’ll translate that for you…TV in bed, yes, I wanted to make the most of television in bed before heading off for a day of pampering. Of course I did!

Good morning! Yes I had to use the timer for this shot and I ran in and out of bed easily 20 times.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
There’s nothing like a bit of BBC Breakfast, with Olly Murs and Michael Buble may I add, and my morning coffee!
My morning view!

I could not believe how incredible the view was when I woke up and saw the sun streaming across the green, it put a real spring in my step. I sat out admiring the view for a while with my morning coffee. The crisp autumn air was refreshing and gazing out across the stadium was quite special – it was a very relaxing start to the day.

That view! What a way to wake up!

After a very leisurely start I headed down to Beefy’s restaurant to have some breakfast, and oh what a lovely setting and feast awaited me. I had breakfast like a Queen! It’s a buffet style set up which means you can have as little or as much as you wanted.

Beefy’s restaurant – a gorgeous setting for breakfast!
My view at breakfast!
You can have a full English, continental, cereal, fruit, pastries and an omelette bar – there was literally anything you wanted!
Muffins and pastries!
I’m in heaven – Bon Maman is my favourite and they had so many different flavours! And, mini Marmites!
Morning juices and fruit shots!

There was a brilliant selection of food and drinks – so much choice I didn’t know where to start! I picked a cooked breakfast and some fresh fruit while reading Blogosphere magazine. Me, my magazine and a strong coffee – bliss!

Delicious! Breakfast is served.

After breakfast I headed back to my room, grabbed my bags and checked out. I’d always heard Hilton Hotels were good but, now I’ve seen how great the standard is I’ll be looking to book at other Hiltons when we travel. It was a lovely, relaxing evening and the breakfast set me up ready for a day in the spa. I’ll be posting about that very shortly so keep an eye out for it!

I’d like to thank the Hilton Ageas for a wonderful stay, I had a great nights sleep and it was incredible to get away from it all.Β Β It was a real Southampton retreat!

Thank you Hilton Ageas!
